AUTOFLOWER GERMINATION PROTOCOL
CRITICAL AUTOFLOWER RULES:
1. NEVER TRANSPLANT - Start in final container 2. NO NUTRIENTS FOR 10-14 DAYS 3. KEEP HUMIDITY HIGH (70-80%) 4. TEMPERATURE: 75-80F (24-27C) 5. LIGHT: 18-24 HOURS PER DAY 6. GENTLE HANDLING - Seeds are fragile
CONTAINER SIZE:
Autoflowers prefer 3-5 gallon final pots. Roots determine yield potential.

STEP-BY-STEP: PAPER TOWEL METHOD (RECOMMENDED)
01
PREPARE MATERIALS
Clean plate, paper towels, distilled water (pH 6.0-6.5), seeds, clear cup or dome.
02
WET PAPER TOWEL
Moisten paper towel. Wring out excess - should be damp, not dripping wet.
03
PLACE SEEDS
Put seeds on towel with 1 inch spacing. Cover with second damp towel.
04
CREATE HUMIDITY DOME
Cover with clear plastic or place inside ziplock bag. Keep dark and warm (75-80F).
05
CHECK DAILY
Check every 12-24 hours. Keep towel moist. Most seeds pop in 24-72 hours.
06
TRANSPLANT TAPROOT
When taproot is 0.25-0.5 inches, CAREFULLY plant in final container. Root down, seed 0.25 inch deep.
WARNING: Handle taproot with extreme care. Never touch the white root tip. Damage here = stunted plant or death.
FEEDING SCHEDULE
IMPORTANT: Feeding frequency depends heavily on your growing medium. Always follow the specific brand's guidelines on the bottle for dosage, but adhere to the frequency logic below for your medium to avoid root rot.

FLUSH SCHEDULE
WHEN TO FLUSH:
Start flush 10-14 days before harvest date.
FLUSH PROTOCOL:
Week -2: Stop all nutrients. Water only. Week -1: Plain pH'd water. 2-3x pot volume. Final days: Water lightly. Let soil dry slightly before harvest.
ORGANIC GROWS:
No flush needed. Stop amendments 2 weeks before harvest. Feed microbes until end.

FLUSH PROTOCOL
WHEN TO FLUSH:
Start flush 10-14 days before harvest.
FLUSH METHOD:
Use pH'd water only (no nutrients). Use 2-3x pot volume in water. Let runoff clear.
ORGANIC GROWS:
No flush needed. Just stop amendments. Feed microbes until harvest.
DRYING & CURING PROTOCOL
DRYING (SLOW DRY):
Duration: 7-14 days Temperature: 60F (15-16C) Humidity: 60% Darkness: Complete Test: Stems should snap, not bend. Leaves should be dry and crispy. Do not rush this stage.
HANG DRYING:
Hang branches upside down. Remove large fan leaves. Keep airflow gentle (no direct fan).
CURING (THE CURE):
Container: Glass mason jars Fill: 75% full (leave air space)
BURPING SCHEDULE:
Days 1-3: Open 3x daily, 10 min each Days 4-7: Open 2x daily, 5 min each Week 2: Open once daily Week 3+: Open every 2-3 days Week 4+: Cured. Store sealed.
IDEAL CURE TIME:
2-4 weeks minimum for smooth smoke. 2+ months for premium quality.

TRAINING GUIDE
LST (LOW STRESS TRAINING) FOR AUTOS
WHAT IS LST?
Gently bending and tying branches to create an even canopy. Increases light exposure to all bud sites.
WHEN TO START:
Week 2-3, when plant has 4-6 nodes. Stems should be flexible but not brittle.
HOW TO LST:
1. Use soft plant ties or coated wire 2. Gently bend main stem horizontal 3. Tie down to pot edge 4. Continue tying new growth 5. Stop at first sign of pre-flower
BENEFITS:
- Even canopy = even light distribution - More bud sites exposed - Increased yields (10-30%) - Controls height
CRITICAL WARNING // NO TOPPING
DO NOT TOP AUTOFLOWERS!
Autos have a fixed lifecycle. Topping stresses the plant and requires 1-2 weeks to recover. This time is taken from flowering, reducing yield significantly.
WHY NOT TOP AUTOS:
- Limited veg time (3-4 weeks) - Recovery time = lost growth - Stunted plants = lower yields - Increased risk of hermaphrodite
ALTERNATIVES:
- LST (recommended) - Leaf tucking - Mild defoliation
EXCEPTION:
Only experienced growers with fast-vegging strains should attempt topping, and only in optimal conditions.
TRAINING TIMELINE
W1
GERMINATION / SEEDLING
No training. Let plant establish. Keep humidity high.
W2
EARLY VEG
Begin LST if plant has 4+ nodes. Use gentle bends.
W3
MID VEG
Continue LST. Tuck leaves under branches. Even canopy.
W4
LATE VEG / PRE-FLOWER
STOP all training. Plant is transitioning. Hands off.
W5+
FLOWER
NO training. Support branches if needed. Defoliate sparingly.
DEFOLIATION GUIDE
LIGHT DEFOLIATION (SAFE):
- Remove 1-2 large fan leaves weekly - Focus on leaves blocking bud sites - Best done in veg and early flower
HEAVY DEFOLIATION (RISKY):
- Not recommended for autos - Can stunt growth - Reduces energy production
WHEN TO DEFOLIATE:
- Week 3-4 veg: Light defoliation - Week 1-2 flower: Remove blocking leaves - Late flower: Avoid
LEAVES TO REMOVE:
- Large fan leaves blocking light - Yellow/dying leaves - Leaves touching soil

VENTILATION GUIDE
CFM (CUBIC FEET PER MINUTE):
Measure of air movement. Higher = more air moved.
CALCULATION:
CFM = Tent Volume (cu ft) x Air Exchanges x Modifications
MODIFICATIONS:
- Carbon Filter: Add 25% - Each 90-degree bend: Add 10% - Long duct runs: Add 5% per 10ft
FAN SIZING (UPDATED FOR SMALL/MEDIUM GROWS):
- 4" Fan: ~190 CFM (2x2, 2x4 tents) - 6" Fan: ~400 CFM (3x3, 4x4 tents) - 8" Fan: ~700 CFM (5x5 tents)
PRO TIP:
Buy one size larger than needed. Run on speed controller for quiet operation and lower energy use.
